I love getting a bargain and am the first person to not keep my cool and instead tell everyone who asks how little it cost, but do you really get the same quality and cut for a cheaper price tag? I decided to investigate with the always in fashion, leather jacket.
For years I have searched for the perfect leather jacket but I can’t seem to find one that is the style I want but at a reasonable price. I see so many girls and boys in leathers that look great but do they shell out a premium?
I have searched to see if it is possible to pay under £200 for a beautiful leather jacket that could give the designers a run for their money…

Acne – £790.00
Yes this is a beautiful jacket and the collar is very on style but priced at £790.00 I wouldn’t be able to afford to eat if I bought it. I choose my multiple tubs of Ben & Jerry’s thank you very much.

Twenty8Twelve – £400.00
Sienna Miller is the queen of the boho look and a leather jacket is her wardrobe staple, so it’s no surprise to see one in her collection. I love the collar and zips on the sleeves but it could do with being a little longer. If I’m paying £400.00 I would want it to be my most perfect jacket in the world and unfortunately for me, it doesn’t tick all the boxes.

Asos – £100.00
So this Asos jacket is a steal at £100 but, and sorry for sounding a bit critical, it’s nowhere near the same flattering cut as the designer jackets. Maybe it is impossible to get away with paying less and wanting the finishing touches?

Asos – £120.00
Zips on the sleeves – check! Quilted detail – check! Good length – check! Collar that you can pop up – arrgghhhh!! It is so almost perfect but collarless is so limiting and If I’m investing over £100 I want variety in the styling.

Reiss – £325.00
So the price is certainly not as ridiculous as the Acne jacket which was £790.00 and I love the collar and side zip fastening but it feels a little, what’s the word…..fuddy duddy! Yep, I went there.
After many hours searching…

Oasis – £165.00
It has the zipped sleeves, collar, quilted detailing, side zip and is only, wait for it… £165.00! It is pretty much what I have been looking for and I can totally see it over a maxi dress or with a woolly jumper and skinny jeans. In fact I’ll just live it in forever and ever. Hooray!
So it is of course true that you have to expect to pay more for designer styling but sometimes, if you really really look, you can find a gem for a reasonable price.
Long live the British high street!
Love x
