On Wednesday 30th November, my DS.Emotion colleague Beth and I headed over to the Stylist Skincare awards at Harvey Nichols to get some top beauty advice, free demonstrations, some lovely bargains and free champagne!
We made a beeline for the champagne stand, which was freely flowing all night (it loosens the purse strings we found out!) and made our way around Chanel, Clinique, Elemis, Estee Lauder…
Dermalogica had a counter installed for the evening where they offered a face mapping service to establish the condition of your skin and what products are best suited to you. They were very happy to offer free testers for specific regimes which Beth took full advantage of!
The Mac counter was busy with girls trying to stock up their make up bags but one of the artists found time to make over Beth and show her how to enhance her eyes and add a splash of colour. Meanwhile I bought Prep & Prime, a product that once you use, you can’t live without!
I headed over to the Clinique counter to buy the moisturiser I swear by, Moisture Surge. It is pink, smells lovely and sinks in straight away. After buying that and something for my boyfriend, I received an amazing make up bag with oodles of freebies such as eye cream, tinted lip moisturiser and mascara.

There was a timetable of demonstrations and offers throughout the evening with Tom Ford, Bare Minerals, Giorgio Armani, a lesson in illuminated skin with Laura Mercier and a demo on the perfect Christmas up-do from Aveda.
After multiple glasses of champagne, a credit card bashing and Beth almost being escorted off the premises for roaming around the upper floors of Harvey Nichols, we headed home but not without our jam packed goody bag.
It was a great evening for us and a very clever strategy of theirs to get you to buy products you can’t afford!
