Hippy headbands

After days of Coachella photos being published on every fashion and gossip website, I officially feel in the festival mood.

I went to my first festival straight after my graduation 3 years ago. I collected my certificate, hopped on a plane to Spain and arrived at Benicassim. But my did I completely pack the wrong clothes! Whilst I packed things I didn’t mind getting battered (a staple diet of denim shorts and various t-shirts), every other girl at the festival pulled on beautiful maxi dresses, bejewelled floaty tops and the latest gladiator sandals. I definitely underestimated the dress code!

I have well and truly learnt my lesson and whilst I still won’t necessarily wear my best clothes, I will definitely use accessories to lift the outfit and take me out of scruffy territory.

The number one accessory for the festival season as got to be the hippy headband. Slip one on and you’ll feel you’re straight out of Woodstock, at one with the trees, hanging with the cool people, a bonafide hippy.

Crown and Glory sell the most beautiful garlands – very Lana Del Rey and very affordable. These three are £15 each.

If your pennies are a little tight and you don’t want to worry about losing them, head down to Primark. These three cost between £1 and £2 – hurrah!

Although they are great festival wear, don’t be afraid to wear these with your day to day outfits.  Use them to add detail to a standard jeans and jumper outfit and add a flirty side to smart trousers and a silk shirt.

We’re all hippies at heart so embrace the crown and wear it with pride!
