I think it’s fair to say that there is no chance of a drought in Leeds at the moment. It has just rained and rained and it’s really starting to effect my wardrobe choices. All I want to do is crawl into something made of wool and wrap up in my raincoat.
But today I resisted a chunky knit, the only appealing item at 8am, and pulled on a floaty polka dot dress to feel less urgh and more aaaah. (I obviously wore a pair of thick black tights – a girl needs to be warm!)
I bought this dress from H&M the other day in the sale for £10. I honestly didn’t mean to shop and was purely there for research purposes but I’ve been looking for a long sleeve dress for a while and couldn’t resist. I love the full skirt, the buttons down the front (which I’m going to change to pearls) and the bow at the back. Paired with thick tights and ankle boots it’s warm but not too heavy and wintry. I’m really looking forward to wearing it in the summer with bare legs, wedges and flowers in my hair.
Polka dots had somehow worked their way into my psyche last night. While watching The Apprentice I did a little nail art and it just happened to match this dress. Honestly a coincidence. All the cool people match their nails to their dress right?!
I am a little smug with how much I love them though and coped with the ribbing from my colleagues. I swear they think I do these things on purpose…
